Early Release Dec. 23 and All-Day Release Jan. 2
Sent on behalf of the Vice President for Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness Henry Judah
Faculty, Staff and Student Employees,
With authorization from Chancellor Glenn Hegar, Interim President Tommy Williams has authorized the early release of employees at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 23, and an additional all-day release on Friday, Jan. 2.
Branch campuses, teaching sites and state agencies may have alternate holiday schedules and should consult with their respective leadership or supervisor for related information.
Employees performing essential facility, health, safety and/or security-related functions will be required to report as normally expected. Employees supporting or participating in clinical operations or those unsure of reporting status should confirm with their supervisor prior to the early release date.
Employees required to work during this early release time will be given state compensatory time off to take within the next 12 months, and/or may have their current work schedule adjusted appropriately by their department. Sick/vacation leave time previously authorized will be reinstated.
Bus service will end early Tuesday, Dec. 23. Last leave times from campus for each bus route will be approximately 1 p.m. There will be no bus service for the remainder of the year. Break service resumes Monday, Jan. 5, 2026. Bus routes and schedules are available on the Transportation Services bus routes page and in the Texas A&M mobile app.
Libraries will close at noon Tuesday, Dec. 23, for the early release and will also be closed all day Friday, Jan. 2 (Bryan-College Station and Galveston campuses). A list of library operating hours by location for the winter break is available on this Libraries webpage. Regional libraries will follow their campus operation directions.
Please note that hours of operation for recreation centers at our campuses vary. Hours are posted online for the Student Recreation Center, Southside Recreation Center and Polo Road Recreation Center at the main campus, and for the Campus Recreation Center and Sea Aggie Fitness Center at the Galveston campus.
Thank you for all that you do to make Texas A&M a great place to work and enjoy the winter break.
Henry Judah
Vice President for Human Resources and Organizational Effectiveness,
