The latest episode of At Ease with General Mark A. Welsh III, produced by KAMU Studios, features an in-depth interview with engineering professor and researcher Dr. Abhishek Jain and his former student Ashley Chuong. Chuong, who is now a student at the Texas A&M School of Engineering Medicine in Houston, talks about finding her passion for engineering and medicine in Dr. Jain’s lab, where they studied ovarian cancer using “organ-on-a-chip” technology. Today, Dr. Jain continues that work, studying everything from cardiovascular disease to aging in outer space.

Wellness Premium Initiative

The Texas A&M University System supports employee wellness through the Wellness Premium Initiative, offering a chance to lower monthly health premiums while prioritizing well-being by completing the annual wellness exam and one other activity between Sept. 1 and June 30. In addition to your primary care physician, on-site appointments are available through Catapult and virtual options are available through Accolade Virtual Care.

Should I Use AI For This

To use AI, or not use AI, that is the question. Deepen your understanding of how and when to use artificial intelligence (AI) by attending one of these University Libraries workshops addressing the use of AI in academia. The next session will be held Wednesday, Feb. 26, in person with additional opportunities to join throughout the spring 2025 semester, including virtual options. Registration is required.

Employee Engagement Survey Underway

The employee engagement survey launched earlier this week and is led through our Division of Planning, Assessment and Strategy in partnership with an external consultant, Korn Ferry. This is an opportunity for our faculty and staff to share confidential feedback that will be used to inform decisions and develop action plans to ensure Texas A&M is a place where you feel valued. Faculty and staff received unique links to participate via email on Monday, Feb. 17. Additional information is shared on the *Employee Engagement Survey webpage.
