Texas A&M Returns To SXSW With Fast Company As ‘A Force For Good’
Aggies will descend upon Austin for the 2025 South By Southwest (SXSW) at the Fast Company Grill on March 8-10 to highlight how Texas A&M University faculty, staff and students continue to create a brighter, safer future for the people of Texas, the nation and beyond. United as “A Force for Good,” thought leaders and visionaries will provide their perspectives on “real transformation” — what happens when leaders of character stand up, step forward and drive meaningful action.
The event is set to showcase Texas A&M’s impact as one of the nation’s premier land-, sea- and space-grant institutions with interactive displays and engaging panelists. Dr. Amy Waer, Dean of the College of Medicine, will share insight on how technologies like artificial intelligence are making the future for medical professionals and their patients brighter, and Col. (Ret.) Michael E. Fossum ‘80, Chief Operating Officer of Texas A&M University at Galveston, will speak on the importance of the branch campus’ role in driving the economic, social, political and ecological vitality of our oceans and surrounding ecosystems. Whether on land, at sea or in space, Texas A&M is leading the way.

Beautiful bells play every 15 minutes on campus and toll for every hour. But have you ever thought about who keeps them sounding their best? Learn the ins and outs of the 49 bells in Texas A&M’s 14-story Albritton Bell Tower — you’ll be surprised by the department that’s in charge of the tower and the huge variety in bell range and size. Explore the tower’s history, including how the bells were kept safe during construction and how old-school MIDI tapes were used to play the bells for years. Climb the tower to hear the lowest and highest notes and find out what the bells have in common with Texas A&M’s replica Liberty Bell.
