Texas A&M Stories Site Launches

Collaborative efforts across the university have successfully brought to life Texas A&M University’s new storytelling engine, stories.tamu.edu. With an emphasis on engaging imagery and videography supported by relatable written content, this platform purposefully shares stories of education, outreach and research to introduce Texas A&M’s impact at scale to the state, nation and world.

Partnerships with marketing and communications professionals, faculty, staff, students and former students supported the site’s soft launch earlier this month, which aligned with the university’s “Marketplace of the Future” and Aggie panelists that showcased Texas A&M as “A Force for Good” at the Fast Company Grill at South by Southwest. Now, this same collaborative spirit carries forward as teams across the university tell stories with intention and purpose to elevate, inspire and engage a variety of audiences with varying interest in, or even awareness of, Texas A&M.

With this launch, today.tamu.edu now redirects to stories.tamu.edu, and the weekly opt-in distribution of Texas A&M Today for subscribers remains in place, welcoming readers to explore stories featuring the work of faculty, staff and students.

At Ease: Honoring Tradition And Service At Texas A&M

Tradition and service are important parts of Aggie life, and two of the most impactful are The Big Event and Muster. In the latest episode of At Ease, President Mark A. Welsh III talks with student leaders Becca Dawson, director of The Big Event, and Abby Kerckhoff, chair of the Aggie Muster Committee, about these two important university traditions. Now in its 42nd year, The Big Event is the largest one-day, student-run service event in the country designed to say “thank you” to the Bryan-College Station community. This year’s event will be held on March 22. Today, more than 100 universities around the country have modeled service events on The Big Event.

Another revered — yet much more solemn — university tradition, Aggie Muster, unites Aggies in remembrance of current and former students who have passed away. Hundreds of Musters are held at locations around the world each year on April 21. Join President Welsh, Becca and Abby to learn more about these treasured traditions and acts of service.
